ACAV developed the capacity to identify emerging needs in the community, and has led a coordinated response to those needs. As part of that, we have Current Services within the community to assist you and your needs. These services will be updated on a weekly basis in order to keep the community in the know!

Date & Time: Monday -Friday (excluding Stat.holidays) at 1pm. After completing some information forms, clients are seen by an addictions counsellor at 1:30 for approx. 45 minutes.
Description: AADAC Adult Counselling and Prevention Services Calgary offers a variety of short-term outpatient treatment services to those experiencing concerns with substance use and/or gambling. We also see people who are impacted by another persons substance use and/or gambling. We offer individual, family and group counselling.

Description: The Information Sharing Training is a cross-ministry initiative created to address concerns raised throughout Alberta by organizations and service providers on the impact of privacy legislation and their ability to share information with each other. The one-day training sessions provide information about legislative responsibilities and answer questions about the impacts of parent and privacy legislation on service providers in government, public, private sector and non-profit organizations.

Service Name: White Tiger's Montreal Girl Conference 2006

Description: Every year the White Tiger Group host an annual "Violence Against Women" conference in Montreal, Canada for teen girls on December 6th. December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada. Established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada, this day coincides with the sad anniversary of the death of 14 women who were tragically killed on December 6, 1989 at l'Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal because of their gender. The conference will focus on violence against women- particulary teen girls (15-19). The objective is to pro-actively provide information that participants can bring back to their highschools and share with their peers.
